”Bigger, whiter, happier”
Duration: 06’30”
The video consist of 2 very simple layers, picture and Audio. The audio side is taken from Tyra Banks’ own talk-show where she shows women at home and the audience in the studio how to make a five minute make-up. The idea for the piece arose from a series of work that all was based in a research about happiness. Happiness is very non-specific term and is different defined and measured for each person. In my research one thing became conspicuous to me; how happiness often was used as a commercial lure in advertising especially to attract female consumers. The hysteric make-up advices thats being screamed out is so commanding, as if it is a life worthy knowledge for these women to know how to cover up their flaws. To make a bizarre leather mask fit to my face is my comment on how being beautiful is being assimilated with happiness.

“Where Everything is Music”
Duration: 03’12”
I have made the video ”Where Everything is Music” with inspiration from Islamic sufis, who search for a greater order of things behind our small everyday systems. They are known for whirling together in order to open up their hearts. I have tried to take their spinning motions into my own everyday life, into my laundry room on Amager, where I have listened to the rhythm of a washing programme and followed it with my own way of spinning.
