The work titled Prayers Accepted follows traces of the similarities between the Turkish versions of “to be (olmak)” and “to die (ölmek)”, “original (sahici)” and “fake (sahte)” and “to suit (uymak)” and “to fabricate (uydurmak)”. The traces of the similarity between the words are sought in behaviours via the interventions made
on an indefinite space. In the scope of this work, a spot, redesign-ed as a part of an urban transformation project in Istanbul, has been documented through a year with certain intervals. As well as the recorded materials, the study also takes the thinner in the plastic bottle, the favorite yellow tone of the municipality and prayers into account. |
